Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power, took charge as the President of Indian Steel Association on Thursday. He assumed the role immediately.

According to a statement by the Indian Steel Association (ISA), Naveen Jindal succeeded Dilip Oommen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AMNS India, starting from March 21.

The statement mentioned that Naveen Jindal was unanimously elected as the President of the ISA by the Apex Committee, which is the governing body of ISA.

Jindal emphasized the importance of the steel industry, along with its upstream and downstream manufacturing value chains, growing together for India to achieve its development goals.

He also highlighted the industry’s commitment to decarbonize and reduce its carbon footprints to meet targets aligned with the Prime Minister’s commitments to the world.
